What is a Digital Lending Platform?

This is a new way of digital offering where various industry players come together to offer differentiated end to end products to the user through electronic platforms such as mobile phones and tablets.
With our Furaha Digital Lending Platform, we give you the opportunity to transact instantly anywhere and anytime. You can also manage your loan securely.

Simply download Furaha App, go to the home screen of our app and ""select Sign up"" to start the journey.

If you haven't completed your registration process, you can resume within 60 days by selecting "Resume Application" on the Furaha Mobile app. You'll need to enter the OTP sent to your registered mobile number to proceed.

The app is currently available only in the Ugandan app store. If you’re registered to a different region’s app store, it may not appear in your search results.

If you’re eligible, you can adjust your app store region by going to your device’s settings. Please note, however, that changing your app store region might affect other region-specific apps and subscriptions on your account.

If you’ve switched your app store region and still can’t access the app, try restarting your device and confirming that your region settings were updated. If the problem persists, please get in touch with our customer support for additional assistance.

No, the app is designed for registration and use by residents of Uganda. Attempting to create an account from outside the country is prohibited.

Currently, the app is only accessible within Uganda. We may explore additional options in the future to allow previews for interested users globally.

What products do you offer?

We currently offer a School Fees Loans product, with disbursement directly to the school and payable over a period of up to three months. You can apply the assigned loan limit to pay for multiple students.

We require you to scan your Uganda National ID Card (NIN) and to take a selfie for security purposes.

This feature will be enabled soon. Currently only MTN subscribers can be enrolled to apply for Furaha School Fees Loans.

Furaha is collaborating with SchoolPay, and other players are expected to join soon.

You will need to contact the school to obtain the name of Aggregator, School Code and Student Registration Number.

Furaha will display the school fees balance once you enter the student details. If no balances are available, you will need to contact the school to update before proceeding.

The loan approval process is Realtime. We will display the loan limit during the application process.

If application is declined, you will be notified on the rejection reason. You may apply again after resolving the rejection reason.

Loan application processing is Realtime. You can not edit details of loan application once you review and loan application.

Currently, the app is restricted to users within Uganda and optimized for local services and regulations. Using the app outside of Uganda is limited to checking your balance statement and making loan repayments.

The app's functionality is geo-restricted, meaning it only fully operates within Uganda. Accessing it from other regions may lead to limited service.

App updates are region-specific. If you're outside Uganda, your app store may not show the latest version. You may need to return to Uganda or temporarily adjust your app store settings to access updates.

Switching app store regions may affect other app purchases, subscriptions, and account balances in your original region. We strongly recommend reviewing your app store terms and conditions before making the change.

Ensure your app store account is registered to Uganda. You may also need to restart your device or check your app store region settings.

We’re constantly working to expand our services and may consider launching the app in additional countries based on demand. Stay tuned for updates on regional availability!

How do I pay for the loan?

Payments will be made from your mobile wallet. You cannot pay for another person.
1. Login to Furaha Mobile App and click to ""Pay"" on the selected loan. Select the payment amount, then enter wallet PIN to pay.
2. If payment is not made by the due date, we will debit due amount from your wallet.

No. Currently, your can repay your Furaha School Fees Loans from your own Mobile number.

No. There are no penalties for early repayment. Overdue repayments will attract a penalty of 2.5% on overdue amount.

Yes, if your device is registered to the Ugandan app store, you should still be able to use the app while traveling. However, certain location-based services may not be available.

What are the eligibility criteria for obtaining a loan?

Applicant should be Resident of Uganda, with a valid National ID and active on MTN Momo. They should also be active payers with SchoolPay.

The more you transact with Furaha and our partners, and you Credit Reference Bureau information will determine your loan eligibility.

Yes. You can apply for loan, but the eligible amount is dependent on transactions with Furaha and our partners, and you Credit Reference Bureau information.

If you’re using a device registered to an app store outside Uganda, you may be unable to access the app. Switching your device’s app store region may help.

Older app versions may no longer function if not updated to the latest release, which may only be available in Uganda. For continuous access, please ensure your app is up to date in Uganda.

Can I view my Loan statement?

Yes, you can view your loan statement at any point by clicking on the "Statements" menu on dashboard screen. You can access both active and historical loans, and download the statement.

Yes, you can access our Mobile from overseas for loan servicing. You can only apply for loan while in Uganda. Application access may however be restricted in a few countries in line with international regulations.

No, we will not charge you for accessing and using Furaha Mobile App. However, Interest, fees, charges and penalties will apply when you take up our loan products.

You have the option to make weekly or monthly repayments. You can make early repayments at no additional costs.

Our services are currently only accessible through the Furaha mobile app within Uganda. We’re exploring additional account access options that may become available in the future.

How do I contact the Furaha?

Please reach out to customer support if you’re unable to resolve the issue after following our recommended troubleshooting steps.

For security reasons, the app may restrict access outside Uganda. Please consider accessing your account when you return or reach out to customer support for alternative solutions.

How secure is Furaha Mobile?

No. For security reasons, we will only allow you to use Furaha Mobile App on one device. You will be able to disable the app from old device if you wish to change to a new one.
